Opportunity Overview
The Community Foundation for Delta County (CFFDC), an affiliate of the Community Foundation of the Upper Peninsula, is accepting applications for its Fall 2026 community grant cycle. The program supports charitable projects that benefit Delta County area residents or address a general community need.
Deadline and Submission
Deadline: October 1, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The Community Foundation of the Upper Peninsula states that grant applications must be turned in to the Foundation office before 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time on April 1 and October 1, with a next-business-day rule when the date falls on a weekend or holiday. The current CFFDC application requires a completed original plus four copies of all required materials.
Eligibility
CFFDC funds nonprofit organizations, including tax-exempt subdivisions of government, for projects benefiting Delta County area residents or meeting a general community need. A Federal ID is required on the application. Individuals and service clubs do not qualify for grant funds.
Funding and Cost Rules
Grants will normally not exceed $2,000. Applicants may request a higher amount, but both the higher amount and the grant itself require approval by the full CFFDC Board of Trustees. The current application does not impose a universal mandatory match or cost share. Its project budget asks applicants to identify committed and pending revenue from government, foundations, corporations, individuals, earned income, membership income, in-kind support, and other sources.
The budget form expressly includes professional fees, travel, equipment, printing/copying/supplies, telephone/fax, postage/delivery, rent/utilities, evaluation, marketing and other specified project costs. Salaries, taxes and benefits are marked not funded through the grant. The Foundation also states that it does not fund operating expenses, including personnel.
Required Application Materials
The current 2026 application requires the grant application cover sheet, a project narrative, project budget, IRS determination letter or other nonprofit-status documentation, and letter(s) of support verifying project need and collaboration. The project narrative may not exceed two pages and addresses need, target population, participant involvement, measurable goals and objectives, implementation plan, timetable, partners, long-term funding strategy, evaluation, and grant publicity. Organizational background information is limited to one page when it has not already been supplied in a prior application.
Restrictions
Grant funds must be used for charitable purposes. Funds may not support political campaigns or attempts to influence governmental bodies except through publicly available nonpartisan analysis, study, or research. Grants are generally one-time awards for specific purposes, and a project will not be funded more than once within a 12-month period.
Atlas Strategic Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 76/100. This is a current, locally focused Michigan opportunity with an exact deadline and time zone, broad charitable eligibility, and an application that expressly permits equipment and project-specific professional costs.
N9+ Fit Score: 55/100, conditional applicant-led. Equipment is an explicit budget category, and an eligible Delta County health, public-health, school, or community-service project could create a legitimate remote-care or diagnostic use case. The program does not specifically prioritize telehealth, clinical devices, or the Nonagon N9+, so fit must be established from a real applicant project and cannot be assumed.
Dr. Miltie, LLC is not established as an eligible direct applicant because the program is limited to nonprofit organizations and tax-exempt governmental subdivisions. Applicant- or partner-led work is the appropriate pathway.
