Opportunity Overview
The Vermont Child Development Division NAFCC Accreditation Fees Grant helps eligible Vermont regulated family child care homes pay qualifying costs associated with National Association for Family Child Care accreditation or reaccreditation. VTAEYC administers the application support process for this Child Development Division program.
Funding and Deadline
No standard per-applicant maximum award or total program pool is published in the current official requirements. Funding is limited each fiscal year and may be prioritized when demand exceeds available funds, with priority given to applicants that have not received a grant during the current fiscal year.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and may be submitted anytime. The current guidance does not publish a fixed closing date, clock time, or time zone. Applicants should allow approximately 4–8 weeks for processing and should apply while fiscal-year funds remain available.
Who Can Apply
The program is intended for Vermont regulated family child care homes. The posted requirements state that the applicant must be associated with a Vermont Child Development Division regulated program, meet NAFCC requirements for initial accreditation or reaccreditation, and have worked directly with children at a CDD regulated child care facility for the previous six months. A public-school teacher on a teacher contract for work in the regulated care setting is not eligible under the posted requirements; classroom assistants, aides, and paraeducators may qualify when the other requirements are met.
Eligible Costs
Qualifying requests may include NAFCC self-study enrollment, application, and 18-month update fees. Costs must align with current NAFCC fees.
Application Requirements
Only complete applications are considered. The current requirements specify that a receipt and screenshot documenting the applicant’s NAFCC status must accompany the application. No follow-up grant report is required under the posted requirements. Applications are made through the VTAEYC grants process.
Match and Cost Share
No mandatory matching percentage or non-Federal cost-share requirement is stated in the current official requirements.
N9+ / QC Healthcare Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 66/100. This is a legitimate statewide early-childhood education quality opportunity with rolling access, but it is narrow in scope and limited to NAFCC accreditation-related fees.
N9+ Fit: 0/100. The grant does not provide a defensible pathway for telehealth hardware, remote physical examinations, clinical technology, or the Nonagon N9+ platform.
QC Healthcare Fit: 0/100. The program does not fund physician coverage or clinical services.
Direct Vendor Review
Dr. Miltie, LLC is not the intended applicant or direct vendor for this grant. The opportunity should remain applicant-led for qualifying Vermont regulated family child care homes.
