Opportunity Overview
The Roscommon County Community Foundation 2026 Competitive Grant Cycle supports projects that strengthen Roscommon County, including education, health and human services, arts and culture, community development, environment and other local priorities. The Foundation moved to a single annual competitive grant cycle for 2026.
Funding
RCCF does not publish a universal applicant maximum or a fixed 2026 competitive grant pool on the controlling public application. Applicants enter the amount requested and total project expense, identify other income sources and their status, and prioritize budget items in case the Foundation cannot fund the full request. The application budget expressly accommodates named vendors or service providers and allows optional vendor quotes or estimates as supporting documents.
RCCF reports that it awarded $650,645 through 88 grants to 36 organizations in 2025 across its funds. Recent health related awards include $12,249.26 to MidMichigan Community Health Services for an ambulance cot and Tono pen, $2,450 to Gerrish Township for traumatic injury splinting, and $1,200 to Ogemaw Hills Free Clinic for a diabetic health outcomes project. Prior awards demonstrate that health services and equipment can be fundable, but they do not establish a current cycle award ceiling or guarantee that any particular technology will be approved.
Deadline and Submission
The complete application and required organizational certification are due October 1, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. RCCF does not publish a time zone, so Atlas does not infer one. Late submissions cannot be accepted. Applications are completed online through RCCF. The applicant’s highest level organizational decision maker receives a certification request, and that certification must also be completed by the deadline.
Eligibility and Geography
The project must serve Roscommon County residents. The controlling materials identify eligible organization types including 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, schools, government agencies and churches. A 501(c)(3) applicant’s legal name must match its IRS determination letter and Form 990. Schools and government entities must provide documentation establishing tax exempt status.
Projects cannot begin before approval by the RCCF Board of Trustees. RCCF states that approvals are typically finalized by November 30, 2026. The competitive program is receipt based, and proof of expenditures and payment is required before grant funds are disbursed. Awards expire within one year of approval; a six month extension may be requested in writing at least 60 days before expiration.
Required Application Materials
The online application requires organization and project information, executive leadership and project contacts, a description of the community need, goals, implementation timeline, success measures, sustainability, prior RCCF awards, collaborators and their roles or financial or in kind contributions, the requested amount, total project cost, and a detailed project budget.
Applicants must provide an IRS determination or affirmation letter or equivalent tax exempt documentation, the most recent IRS Form 990 or 990 N, audit or financial statement, and a PDF list of organization board members. The budget may be uploaded as a PDF or entered in the application and must identify income sources and expense items, including vendors or service providers. Optional supporting materials may include vendor quotes or estimates, project photos, local needs data and prior project outcomes.
A video presentation is also required. It must identify the applicant and organization, describe how the organization serves the community, explain the project and need, state the funding request and focus area, describe Roscommon County impact, explain what happens if the project is not fully funded, and identify implementation responsibility and plans to sustain additional project costs.
Match and Cost Share
The controlling public materials do not state a mandatory non federal match or cost share. The application does require disclosure of other funding sources and asks applicants to describe partner financial or in kind contributions where applicable. Those questions should not be interpreted as a mandatory match requirement unless RCCF provides additional project specific direction.
Atlas Fit Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 89/100. The opportunity is currently open, has a firm published deadline, expressly supports health and education projects, accepts schools and public agencies as well as nonprofits, and has recent documented health service and medical equipment awards.
N9+ Fit Score: 78/100, conditional applicant led. A legitimate role for the Nonagon N9+ device and platform may exist where an eligible Roscommon County applicant proposes a documented health access, screening, remote examination or care delivery project and RCCF confirms that the specific equipment, technology and vendor costs are allowable. The current application expressly accommodates vendor or service provider expenses and optional vendor quotes, and RCCF has recent health equipment awards. However, the program does not specifically identify telehealth or remote physical examination technology, so Atlas does not force the fit. QC Healthcare or other Dr. Miltie services are likewise conditional on an eligible applicant’s project and RCCF allowability.
Dr. Miltie, LLC is not a verified eligible prime applicant under the published applicant categories. Any Dr. Miltie or QC role should be downstream of an eligible applicant and should not proceed until project specific allowability is confirmed.
