Opportunity Overview
WNC Bridge Foundation is accepting applications for its 2026 NOW Grants, a recurring Western North Carolina funding program designed to provide quick, relatively simple support for organizations working in Basic Needs, Mental Health, and Youth Development. Awards range from $1,000 to $10,000.
Deadline and Cycle
The Foundation states that applications are due on the 15th of each month, with funding decisions communicated during the last week of each month. The next monthly deadline is September 15, 2026. The official guidance does not publish a closing clock time or time zone, so Atlas does not infer one. Applicants should verify the live YourCause portal before filing.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) public charities, organizations fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3) public charity, local government entities including public schools, and religious entities. Funded organizations must address needs in WNC Bridge Foundation’s service area: Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania, and Yancey counties, plus the Qualla Boundary.
Organizations that received a 2026 IMPACT Grant are not eligible for 2026 NOW Grant funding. Organizations are limited to one NOW Grant application per year. A 2025 NOW Grant recipient must submit its 2025 final report before a 2026 application can be considered. Schools and universities must apply through their foundation, and each individual school or university may receive only one NOW Grant per year.
Priority Areas
Basic Needs includes essential needs such as fresh food access and prepared meals, healthcare, home or property repair, and transportation. Initiatives focused on homelessness are outside this category. Mental Health includes community outreach and access to mental health services; recovery and substance abuse focused organizations are not eligible. Youth Development includes mental and emotional support, K through 12 academic support, child welfare, and family support.
Allowable and Unallowable Uses
Funds may support direct program expenses including materials, staffing, program delivery, related administrative expenses, transportation, and essential supplies. The Foundation specifically instructs applicants requesting equipment or professional development to include an estimate or invoice, which establishes that such requests may be considered when they otherwise fit the program.
The program does not fund annual or capital campaigns, athletic boosters or youth sports, capital projects such as building repair, renovation, new construction, or land purchase, direct benefit to named individuals, loans, political or lobbying purposes, faith-restricted programming or promotion of religious doctrine, reimbursement of costs incurred before the application deadline, regranting, or sponsorships.
Match / Cost Share
The controlling 2026 public guidance does not state a mandatory match or cost-share requirement. Atlas therefore does not infer one.
Required Forms, Attachments, and Submission
Applications are submitted through the Foundation’s linked YourCause grant portal. WNC Bridge Foundation publishes a 2026 NOW Grant Application reference document and a separate Budget Form. If equipment or professional development is requested, an estimate or invoice is required. Fiscally sponsored applicants must include a sponsor letter that identifies the sponsor’s federal EIN, describes financial and legal responsibilities, explains program-management responsibilities, states when the relationship began, and includes signatures from representatives of both the fiscal sponsor and applicant organization or project.
The YourCause portal is JavaScript dependent and does not expose every live application field through Atlas’s read-only public connection. Applicants should therefore confirm all current portal fields and uploads immediately before submission. The public program page does not identify a separate amendment or addendum process.

Atlas Fit Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 82/100. This is a verified, recurring North Carolina opportunity with express healthcare, mental-health, K through 12, public-school, and equipment pathways. The score is moderated by the relatively small $10,000 ceiling and the absence of a published deadline clock time and time zone.
N9+ Fit Score: 61/100. A legitimate applicant-led pathway may exist because healthcare is an express Basic Needs priority and the current instructions expressly contemplate equipment requests. However, the Foundation does not specifically name telehealth, connected examination technology, or the Nonagon N9+ device and platform as automatically allowable. Any N9+ role must be tied to an eligible applicant’s documented healthcare or school-health project and confirmed against the live budget and program rules before outreach or package production. QC Healthcare is similarly a potential outside vendor or project partner only where an eligible applicant independently defines an allowable need.
Dr. Miltie / QC Healthcare Direct Applicant Review
Dr. Miltie/QC Healthcare is not advanced as a direct applicant. The published applicant classes are 501(c)(3) public charities, fiscally sponsored groups, local government entities including public schools, and religious entities. A Dr. Miltie or QC Healthcare role would therefore need to be applicant led and appropriately structured as a vendor or partner rather than as the grant applicant.
