Opportunity Overview
GSK, in partnership with Triangle Community Foundation, is administering the 2026 GSK IMPACT Awards for the Triangle. The program recognizes up to ten qualifying nonprofit organizations for exceptional achievement, overall excellence, and measurable community-health impact. Each award provides $50,000 in unrestricted funding.
The current application stage is open only to organizations that completed the required registration step by July 24, 2026 and were subsequently approved and invited by GSK and Triangle Community Foundation. Atlas therefore classifies this as an open, invitation-restricted second-stage opportunity, not a new-entry opportunity for organizations that did not complete registration.
Deadline and Submission
Invited organizations must complete the online application through the Triangle Community Foundation portal by September 24, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. The controlling public page does not state a time zone, so Atlas does not infer one. Registration closed July 24, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.; only registrations approved by the administrators receive access to the application stage.
Applicant-Applicable Funding
The program may select up to ten winners. Each award is $50,000 of unrestricted funding. The award cannot exceed 50 percent of the organization’s annual total operating expenses for the applicable fiscal years. This is an organizational funding-limit test rather than a stated project match or cost-share requirement.
Eligibility
Applicants must be independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations with an IRS determination letter and may not be classified as a church, religious organization, political organization, or private foundation. The organization must operate in at least one of Chatham, Durham, Orange, or Wake counties. Annual gross revenue must be at least $100,000 and no more than $5 million for both the 2025 and 2026 fiscal years, excluding in-kind donations and pledges.
Organizations must address at least one eligible community-health factor, including health promotion and harm reduction; housing and transportation; air, water, and land; climate; civic and community resources; education; income, employment and wealth; or safety and social support. Applicants must also demonstrate the program’s IMPACT criteria: innovative, measured, partnered, accountable, community-centered, and transformative work, with racial equity reflected in mission and senior leadership.
Additional exclusions are unusually strict. An applicant must not be a GSK customer or an affiliate of a customer organization or institution. The public guidance identifies academic medical centers, foundations of customer organizations, clinics, home health or visiting nurse agencies, medical treatment centers, hospices, hospitals, payers, wholesalers, and retailers among ineligible examples. Organizations delivering healthcare or facilitating access to healthcare are likely ineligible. Applicants also may not have won a GSK IMPACT Award within the last five years and may not employ any paid staff member holding any credential on the program’s published 2026 healthcare-professional exclusion list.
Required Documents
Invited applicants must upload: the organization’s 501(c)(3) IRS determination letter; a signed W-9; the Board-approved budget for the previous fiscal year; the Board-approved budget for the current fiscal year; a budget forecast for the current fiscal year; a Board of Trustees list including each member’s affiliation and degrees or credentials; and a paid staff chart or list including each staff member’s title and degrees or credentials. The staff credential list is material because the presence of a listed healthcare credential makes the organization ineligible.
Match / Cost Share
The controlling program page does not state a mandatory applicant match or cost-share percentage. However, GSK funding cannot exceed 50 percent of the organization’s annual total operating expenses for the applicable fiscal years. Applicants should treat that requirement as a strict eligibility and award-size limitation.
Community-Health Focus
The program is designed to recognize organizations improving health through community conditions and social determinants rather than clinical care. Eligible work may address healthy behaviors and harm reduction, food insecurity, housing, transportation, environmental conditions, climate resilience, civic participation, education, income and employment, community safety, social connection, mental-health supports, and related community resources.
Atlas Fit Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 74/100. The award is substantial, unrestricted, healthcare-adjacent, and administered by a North Carolina foundation partner, but the score is moderated by the closed registration gate and unusually restrictive organizational eligibility rules. Only previously approved registrants can use the current application window.
N9+ Fit Score: 0/100. Atlas does not force a product fit. The program explicitly avoids grants or awards that could create the appearance of commercial business interest and excludes many healthcare-delivery organizations. The Nonagon N9+ device and platform is therefore not a defensible centerpiece or partnership component for this award.
Dr. Miltie / QC Healthcare Review
Dr. Miltie/QC Healthcare is not an eligible direct applicant and is not advanced as a vendor or partner. The opportunity is limited to qualifying independent 501(c)(3) nonprofits, and the program’s commercial-interest and healthcare-organization restrictions are inconsistent with a device-centered or clinical-services pursuit.
Applicant Outreach Classification
Atlas is not initiating new cold outreach for this opportunity. The first-stage registration deadline has already passed, and the administrators do not publicly identify the organizations whose registrations were approved. Any current applicant must already hold an invitation to the second-stage portal. Atlas will not infer invitation status or represent an unverified organization as eligible to submit.
Amendment and Source Control
No separate amendment or addendum is identified on the controlling public program page as of Atlas verification. Invited applicants should recheck their portal invitation and the official program page before submission for any administrator-issued changes.
