The Powers Lake Area Community Foundation, a component fund of the North Dakota Community Foundation, is accepting 2026 grant applications for nonprofit and government projects serving the Powers Lake area.

Eligibility: IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and government agencies serving the Powers Lake area. Organizations needing a fiscal sponsor may contact the foundation. Projects benefiting more residents receive higher priority.
Allowable and priority context: The fund identifies school technology needs, nursing-home or hospital/clinic needs, and ambulance and fire needs as examples of projects that may fit. Operating or day-to-day expenses are low priority. Multi-year pledges and grants or scholarships to individuals are not funded.
Healthcare and school relevance: Recent awards include Powers Lake School music-department instrument upgrades in 2025 and agriculture-education equipment upgrades in 2024. Lakeside Retirement Corporation received a 2023 building-repair award. The fund also maintains community project funds for the ambulance, public school, preschool, and other local services.
Submission: Applications are submitted through the NDCF Grant Portal. New users register with the organization’s name, EIN, executive officer’s name, username/email, and password, then complete the application shown in the portal.
