Purpose: NIMH seeks research that increases access to and quality of empirically supported youth mental health practices. Responsive projects may address workforce shortages and waitlists, integration of prevention or treatment into schools, pediatric medicine, community organizations, social services or juvenile-justice settings, care transitions, service coordination and systemic barriers to access and quality.
Eligible applicants: Public and private institutions of higher education, nonprofit organizations, for-profit organizations, state and local governments, independent school districts, community-based organizations and other eligible domestic entities described in the NOFO.
Hawai‘i relevance: The opportunity is particularly relevant to research partnerships addressing rural and under-resourced communities, implementation of youth mental health practices in schools and community settings, workforce capacity and culturally responsive service delivery.
Key application gates: Applicants must maintain required federal registrations including SAM/UEI, Grants.gov and eRA Commons, and must identify qualified PD/PI leadership. Projects must be research-ready and appropriately designed for the proposed setting and intervention.
