Opportunity Overview
Community Foundation of Middlesex County (CFMC) has opened its Fall 2026 Competitive Application Cycle for calendar-year 2027 funding. The cycle supports eligible nonprofit and governmental organizations serving Middlesex County across multiple needs, including Community Health (Health / Medical / Hospital Care).
Application deadline: October 1, 2026 at 4:00 PM. CFMC does not separately publish a time zone for this cutoff.
Funding
The current General Application will consider requests up to $5,000; competitive awards have a $500 minimum. Some field-of-interest funds can offer larger awards under their own guidance, but applicants should use the currently published limit applicable to their request.
Eligibility and Geography
Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and 170(c)(1) governmental units that directly serve one or more Middlesex County communities. Previous grantees must be current on required CFMC grant evaluations.
Healthcare organizations and hospital-managed programs may apply for Project support for programs that are budget-enhancing rather than budget-replacing.
Eligible Uses and Restrictions
The current General Application guidance includes support for an organization’s mission/programs and services, technology/equipment, program/project implementation, capacity building/organization improvement, and training/technical assistance. CFMC does not generally fund capital improvement/building programs, debt reduction, endowments/reserves, annual fundraising campaigns, re-granting, retroactive activity, or individuals.
Match / Cost Share
No mandatory non-Federal match or cost-share requirement is published in the current guidance. CFMC lists the ability to catalyze other resources, such as matching gifts, as a favorable project element rather than a stated applicant requirement.
Required Information Session Gate
CFMC required organizations considering an application to attend one of the September information sessions. Both Fall 2026 sessions have passed. Submission
Applications are completed electronically through CFMC’s website. Required supporting documents must be uploaded as PDFs, including the CFMC Budget Summary Form. Applicants with a prior grant must submit any required interim or final evaluation by September 30, 2026.

Atlas Opportunity Score: 92/100. This is a legitimate open Connecticut opportunity with direct community-health eligibility, a clear application route, and allowable technology/equipment support. The modest general award ceiling limits deployment scale.
N9+ Fit: 15/100 conditional. Technology/equipment is explicitly eligible, but no clinical technology is specifically solicited and the current General Application ceiling is $5,000. N9+ should be considered only for a documented applicant-defined need that fits within the budget and project rules.

Applicant Qualification Gate
Before applicant-specific pursuit, confirm service to Middlesex County, eligible entity status, one-application-per-year positioning, prior-evaluation status, the required information-session pathway, and an applicant-owned 2027 project and budget. Do not fabricate scope, budget or technology need.
