Open now. Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. is accepting applications for its 2027 Community Commitment Grants Program supporting K-12 STEM projects and curricula in eligible Nevada schools. Applications are due October 21, 2026 at 5:00 PM PT. No separate official solicitation or grant number is published in the controlling materials.
Funding: Navarro states that $28,000 is available for STEM-based projects or curricula in this round. The controlling application does not publish a minimum or maximum award per applicant. More than one teacher from a school may apply, but the principal must approve each application.
Eligibility: public, private, and charter schools in Clark, Elko, Esmeralda, Lincoln, Nye, and White Pine counties are eligible. Higher-education institutions and nonprofit organizations are not eligible applicants for this cycle.
Preferred costs and uses: the program favors requests for materials, supplies, equipment, and similar resources that can be reused in future STEM activities. These requests are preferred over salaries and stipends. The controlling application does not state a mandatory matching-funds or cost-share requirement.
Submission: use the current 2027 Navarro application and submit the completed proposal by email attachment to STEM.Grants@emnv.doe.gov. Fax submissions are not accepted. Navarro states that applicants should receive confirmation within three business days. The application requires project and applicant information, principal approval, a project summary, up to three learning objectives, evaluation approach, project justification, amount requested, and a cost breakdown. A separate Word or Excel document may be used for the cost breakdown. Beginning with the blind-review narrative section, applicants must not include the school name or other distinguishing information or the application may be disqualified.
Scoring: Atlas Opportunity Score 76/100. This is a clear, current, authoritative Nevada school STEM funding opportunity with a defined deadline and eligible geography, although the total pool is modest and no per-applicant ceiling is published. N9+ Fit 0/100. The program is broad STEM classroom support and does not establish a healthcare, telehealth, or remote-physical-examination purpose; Atlas should not force an N9+ use case. Dr. Miltie/QC Healthcare direct-vendor fit 0/100.
