Open now. The Nevada Department of Education (NDE), Office of Teaching and Learning, is accepting applications in its Fall 2026 Distance Education Course Review Cycle for courses intended for use by Nevada school districts and charter schools.
Application window: August 12 through September 23, 2026. NDE’s controlling public page states that applications are not accepted outside the submission period. NDE does not publish an exact September 23 closing clock time or time zone on the controlling page, so Atlas does not infer one.
Purpose and eligibility: NDE states that distance education programs and courses must be approved before use in Nevada public schools under NRS 388.838. The pathway is relevant to vendors/providers submitting distance education courses for district or charter-school use. Course vendors are responsible for Nevada Academic Content Standards alignment, accessibility and copyright compliance, and updates when applicable standards change. Career and Technical Education courses are reviewed separately through NDE’s CTE office.
Required application materials: the current review process calls for the Smartsheet application, Course List, Required Course Criteria form, standards alignment for each new course, a syllabus for each course, College Board approval for AP courses, and a signed renewal form for renewal submissions, as applicable. NDE states that after the Smartsheet application it will provide access to a vendor Google folder for document uploads.
Review process: the current 2026 timeline lists technical review September 24-October 2, missing-document correction October 5-9, course review October 12-December 17, initial decision December 18, appeal window December 21-February 3, appealed-course review February 4-March 18, final decision March 19, and finalization of the approved course list April 1.
Applicant-relevant value: this is a regulatory/course-approval market-access opportunity, not a grant or procurement. NDE offers no award amount, contract value, grant funding, or guaranteed purchase through the review cycle.
Match/cost share: not applicable; this review cycle does not award grant funds.
Contacts: NDE lists NDE-OTLinfo@doe.nv.gov for distance-learning program questions. Current review-process material identifies DeAna Miravite, deana.miravite@doe.nv.gov, for process questions. CTE questions are routed separately through cteinfo@doe.nv.gov.
Source-quality note: Atlas found an internal date inconsistency in the linked NDE review-process PDF: some visually rendered pages retain stale 2025 language, while the live NDE landing page and current 2026 timeline identify the August 12-September 23, 2026 cycle. Atlas therefore treats the live NDE page and the current-cycle 2026 timeline as controlling and does not infer an unpublished cutoff time.
Atlas Opportunity Score: 52/100. This is a verified, currently open Nevada education market-access pathway, but it provides no direct funding and requires a vendor to have an actual qualifying course ready for review.
N9+ Fit Score: 0/100. The cycle concerns approval of distance education course content, not telehealth hardware or remote physical examination. N9+ fit is not forced.
Dr. Miltie/QC Healthcare direct-vendor fit: 5/100 conditional. A pathway would exist only if Dr. Miltie/QC Healthcare owns or controls a qualifying distance education course that can meet NDE’s content, standards, accessibility, documentation, and review requirements. Atlas has not established that prerequisite and therefore has not advanced a direct submission.
Outreach status: no external outreach was sent. No recipient-specific package was created, and no Zoho Deal was created because no current commercial pursuit or applicant-controlled qualifying course has been established.
