Funding: Requests may be up to $10,000. The Foundation says average awards will likely range from $2,000 to $5,000.
Deadline: September 21, 2026 at 5:00 PM Alaska time. Atlas identified a source-label discrepancy that applicants should preserve rather than silently normalize: the current SLF grants webpage states 5:00 PM AKDT, while the controlling 2026 Competitive Grant Application Guidelines PDF states 5:00 PM (AKST), both for Monday, September 21, 2026. Applicants should submit well before 5:00 PM local Alaska time and confirm the portal clock if timing is material.
Eligibility: Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) public charities with 509(a)(1), 509(a)(2), or 509(a)(3) public-charity status, faith-based organizations providing social services, federally recognized Tribes or Tribal nonprofit organizations, and city governments or boroughs. Individuals, state or federal agencies, for-profit organizations or businesses, certain private nonprofits, and non-Alaska-based organizations are ineligible. Fiscal sponsorship is permitted when a qualified sponsor accepts legal and fiscal responsibility and the required sponsor letter is submitted.
Application: Applications are submitted through The Alaska Community Foundation online grant-management system. Required information includes the requested amount, project description and population served, expected impact, project budget and budget narrative, organizational background, and organizational budget. Applicants with overdue SLF/ACF grant reports or follow-ups should clear those before the deadline.
Match and eligible costs: The 2026 guidelines reviewed by Atlas do not state a mandatory match or cost-share requirement and do not provide a detailed line-item schedule for technology, clinical equipment, telehealth, or vendor costs. Applicants should confirm unusual equipment, technology, capital, or vendor costs with program staff before committing them to a budget.

Atlas fit: This is a legitimate Sitka-area community-health and education funding vehicle, but the award scale is modest and the guidelines do not expressly identify telehealth, remote physical examination, RPM, or medical technology. Atlas therefore does not force an N9+ fit. Dr. Miltie, LLC is not an eligible direct applicant because for-profit businesses are expressly excluded. Realistic health-oriented applicants include eligible Sitka-area nonprofits, Tribal organizations, and municipal entities with a narrowly scoped local health, behavioral-health, aging, maternal/pediatric, school-health, or community-wellness project.
