CDC’s Global Health Center is accepting applications for Expanding Global Health Security through Local Partnerships in Tanzania, CDC-RFA-JG-26-0052. Applications are due October 2, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. The controlling amended CDC NOFO provides $3,000,000 in expected total Year 1 funding across 2 to 3 awards, with exact individual award amounts determined at award. No cost share or match is required.
Applicants must address all three program components and submit separate work plans and budgets for each. The Year 1 ceilings are $1,000,000 for Component 1, $2,000,000 for Component 2, and $2,000,000 for Component 3. Component 1 is expected to be funded initially; Components 2 and 3 may be approved but unfunded unless later activated. The federal summary interface currently displays $5,000,000 and three awards, but Atlas uses the controlling amended NOFO for Year 1 funding and award-count terms.
The project must be conducted in Tanzania. Broad domestic and foreign applicant classes are eligible, subject to the NOFO’s responsiveness requirements and demonstrated in-country implementation capacity. A qualifying local partner receives a 15-point funding preference. Only one application may be submitted per UEI. Applications are nonresponsive if they fail to address all required components, exceed applicable component ceilings, propose research, exceed the 30-page project-narrative limit, are not in English, or present the budget in a currency other than U.S. dollars.
The opportunity supports Tanzania global-health-security capacity including surveillance and information sharing, emergency operations, laboratory and diagnostic systems, biosafety and biosecurity, outbreak detection and response, antimicrobial-resistance and zoonotic-threat detection, timely reporting, and workforce capacity. Applicants should demonstrate credible Tanzania global-health-security implementation capability and satisfy all controlling requirements. Technology or clinical-support roles should be tied directly to the approved program components and the applicant’s documented implementation plan.
